I have too many thoughts and at the same time there is some emptiness in my thoughts. I feel enraged about something happening and I feel philosophical about what could happen.
There are many issues hitting a common man hard these days. While national issues like price rise, inflation and insecurity cannot be written off, state level issues like leadership and separate statehood have taken the toll of an average Hyderabadi.
Looking back at a year which has been eventful, this has been by far the most frustrating Year. The political system has once again proved its might by dividing people. this time on geography and domicile issues. For some one who has seen Hyderabad grow from its laid back nawabi style living to an IT hub, it pains a lot. I feel with in one year recurrent memories have become nostalgia.
No Irani cafe denied serving Chai or Osmania Biscuit just because some one was not a Hyderabadi, Haleem counters in Hyderabad have more non - Islam patrons waiting for the clock to strike 6 in the evening just to taste the special dish available only during the month of Ramadan. Comparatively, Hyderabad has been more cosmopolitan in its existence, we have nurtured a firm belief that if any one from any where in this country can feel at home away from home - it had to be Hyderabad. Mumbai and Hyderabad for me stand on the same pedestal as far as acceptance and tolerance is concerned. Over the last couple of years, the acceptability index of Mumbai has fallen rapidly courtesy political mileage. Hyderabad has also been facing the same problem over the last year.
